Delta Queens pip Ghana Police as GRA Ladies sits Table Top Unscratched

The Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium was the center of attractionon the 24th November, 2021 as the 23rd edition of the Women’s Africa Cup for Club Champions got underway.
With this year’s edition set to unveil a new champion, all clubs were eager to send a message across right from the start.
With two games set for each match day, match day one commenced with 2017 Champions, GRA up against Plateau Queens from Nigeria.

The queens were however unable to turn up for the game due to a delay in their flight. The Royal ladies who were on the field for over 20 minutes were declared winners and awarded 3 goals and three points per the tournament rules.

In the second and final ladies game of the day, Delta Queens led by John Alpha beat their counterparts from Ghana Police by a lone goal. It was a shocking moment to the Ghanaian team and hockey lovers who made their way to the stadium as Delta Queens took a surprising lead in the 33rd minute courtesy Ovoh Roseline.
The Ghanaians tried all they could to equalise but the resilient Delta defence stood tall. The hooter sounded and Delta Queens marched to victory.
